Be Still and Chill

Lately, I have been talking about going through the storms of life.  Storms are common to all of us. We are either in the midst of a storm right now, or we just came through one – or we are heading into one soon.

So here is some common advice for storm survival:

  1. Stay on the ship (refuse to quit) and
  2. Be Still and Chill

Stormy situations add stress to our lives. While a few people have even suffered heart attacks, most of us have experienced stress attacks.

What God’s Word Says

God’s words offer good advice in Psalm 46:10, “Be still and know that I am God.”

In Acts 27, the apostle Paul was on a ship caught up in a hurricane that lasted for several weeks. But in the midst of that storm, Paul urged his shipmates to eat, because they were so stressed that they had not eaten in two weeks. He told them, “you need it to survive.”

The scriptures say that he took some bread and gave thanks to God in front of them all. Then he broke it and they all began to eat and were encouraged.

Storms will always come and go. Don’t panic in the midst of them. And while you are at it, BE STILL and CHILL. Now pass me a biscuit!!!
