Have you ever started your day or started pursuing a dream and at the beginning, everything was smooth sailing? Then, out of nowhere, a storm came and threatened to ruin your day, sink your dreams, or wreck your life!!! If you have, then I have some advice for you…
STAY ON THE SHIP!
My first word of advice is “STAY ON THE SHIP!”
In Acts 27, the apostle Paul was on a ship bound for Rome. At first it was smooth sailing, then, out of nowhere, the ship was caught up in hurricane force winds. Some of the sailors pretended to be securing the anchors but secretly were attempting to escape on lifeboats. But Paul said, “unless these men stay with the ship, they cannot be saved.”
What is the application for each of us today?
It is to abandon your backup plan; your side chick or guy. Commit totally to you dreams, and to making this day the best possible day. Commit totally to making your life, work experience, or relationship the best that it can be.
That was Paul’s advice…stay with the ship. “O the soldiers cut the ropes that held the lifeboat and let it drift away.”
We, too, have to surrender completely to our dreams and goals. Let Plan B drift away. Stay on the ship and you will arrive at your destiny!!!
